What is laser rejuvention?

Laser rejuvenation treatment is used to treat dryness and thinning of the vaginal wall which can cause painful intercourse.​

​

As women age and reach menopause, oestrogen levels drop which can affect the vaginal tissue.

What happens during laser rejuvenation treatment?

 

The laser treatment is carried out by your consultant gynaecologist who inserts a probe into the vagina which produces a pulse that stimulates new collagen in the vaginal tissue, and re-establishes a healthy blood supply.

 

The treatment is carried out as part of a course of sessions, with each on lasting approximately 5-10 minutes. It is virtually painless and other than refraining from sex for a few days after each treatment, you can continue your usual activities.

 

At the end of your course of sessions you should no longer experience discomfort and painful sex.
